Seeking "A Weekend with Strangers" AKA "Weekend Swingers"

#1 by Jill Phillips , Wed Sep 22, 2021 12:08 am

Hello,

I've been on the hunt for the X-rated film "A Weekend with Strangers" (USA, 1971) AKA "Weekend Swingers" (UK, 1974). It stars David Gale of Re-Animator alongside Jennifer Welles. I'm a big collector of David's filmography (this is his screen debut) and this one has been tough to find! It never had a home release and should only exist as a film reel in Eastman Color. It was directed by Allen Savage and produced by Chancellor films.
I'd preferably like a 35mm print but I'm enthusiastically on the lookout for ANY copy of this!

Please let me know if you have a copy, or if you have any advice as to where to find one!

Hello,

Hopefully someone here can help you find the film, but if not,
here is another forum you may consider joining as a member and posting your request on:
http://www.35mmforum.com/

That same forum has a dedicated section for adult films:
http://www.35mmforum.com/forum/3-adult-films/

Another option focusing mostly on 16mm films is:
https://www.16mmfilmtalk.com/index.php

Membership is also required there for posting.
Good luck on your search!

So it never had a VHS release? Not true film I realize but in the early days of home video, it seems possible.

Perhaps it's possible, but I've never run into anything to suggest that it has. That would be really nice though, it would make this a lot easier, lol! At the end of the day, my goal is to find the film no matter what format it may be in.

The only thing close to that was that the trailer was released in a Something Weird bundle, which I have the footage from.

When I looked it up on Wikipedia (under the filmography of David Gale), it is stated as a lost film. But you never know. Maybe someday a print will surface somewhere. :-)
